Since 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass—with its brighter tone and richer midrange—has been the perfect complement to the Precision Bass, which tends to focus on the rumbling low end of the spectrum. Over the years, the Jazz Bass specifications have changed to match the trends of popular music and the needs of hard-working players. This 2011 Fender Jazz Bass is a reissue of the 1975 iteration of the model. Unlike the modern American Standard Jazz Bass, it features a rounder 7-1/4″ fingerboard radius, a 1-1/2″ nut width, and a slim C-shape neck, so the overall feel is smooth and fast, and the bass plays almost effortlessly. Also, the pickups are positioned slightly closer to the bridge, so its tone is more aggressive with complex harmonics. We love the lightweight two-piece ash body, and the natural finish is the perfect match to the maple neck with black binding. This bass is in excellent condition, and it includes all of the original case candy and the pickup/bridge covers, which have never been installed (luckily, the installation diagram is in the case, too).
